The film chronicles both the life and work of Brazilian author and engineer Euclides da Cunha and a failed attempt at directing his biopic in the 1980s and 1990s. Footage from the unfinished film is included alongside archive and documentary material.

Dopo il delirante e marcissimo cortometraggio BOM DIA CARLOS, Gurcius Gewdner regala un lungometraggio al povero Carlos, riducendo la parte vomitevole e marcia, arricchendolo però il film con deliri, assurdità weird d’alta scuola, arthouse e effetti speciali stupefacenti. Dopo i primi minuti che presentano un mondo immaginario con dei gangster con la faccia di merda, letteralmente, assistiamo ad un omaggione a “UN GATTO NEL CERVELLO” di Fulci. Carlos è tormentato da dolori allo stomaco e voci senza senso nella mente e chiede aiuto al medico di fiducia (interpretato dallo stesso attore). Se questa parte ricalca fedelmente il cortometraggio succitato, il resto del film si separa dalla storyboard del corto, mostrando gli esseri merdosi che tormentano lo stomaco del dilaniato Carlos, un gruppo di fricchettoni in una spiaggia e una coppia assurda di amanti, Omar e Ortensia, che accudisce un uovo di papero come fosse un bambino. Tutti i personaggi, compreso il pazzo dottore di Carlos, finiranno in un’isola fuori dal tempo e lo spazio dove vomito, feci, magia, disperazione e agonia porteranno chi vi accede al delirio assoluto e senza senso…….
